Join us in celebration of dynamic Indigenous cultures. The Native American Cultural Festival features an array of live performances by acclaimed artists, cultural demonstrations, artmaking activities for the whole family, and educational experiences in the museum’s galleries.
A full festival schedule will be available roughly one month before the event.
Although you can register for the festival when you arrive, we strongly suggest registering in advance of the festival. Pre-registered guests will enjoy priority check-in and a more convenient admission experience when they arrive.
Our parking garage is located on Oak Street, on the west side of the museum. Parking is $14 per vehicle. Museum members park in the garage for free. Guests with disabilities who have an accessible placard also park for free (show the attendant your placard as you exit the garage). Limited free parking is available in the north lot (at 45th Street and Rockhill Road) and on nearby residential streets.
The KC Streetcar route includes an Art Museum stop. Upon arrival, use the Arterie pathway that connects the streetcar stop to the Nelson-Atkins, guiding visitors past the Kansas City Art Institute and the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art

Orchid Delirium returns to Powell Gardens this spring, inviting guests into a world where orchids take center stage. Inspired by the pageantry of state occasions and the United States Bicentennial, this year’s exhibit nods to the elegance of the White House and its gardens.
Inside the Conservatory, hundreds of orchids bloom in a setting reminiscent of an upscale gala, where nature itself is dressed in finery. Cascading orchids adorn mannequins and displays, immersing visitors in a living celebration of color, texture, and form. Nearby, the Perennial Lounge draws inspiration from state dinners and First Lady orchids. The Native Orchid Spotlight in the Conifer Room highlights Missouri’s own native orchids, while Garden Galleries’ spring display evokes the charm of the White House Rose Garden with formal plantings.
Exhibit guides and tours help guests deepen their appreciation for orchids and discover why they have captivated people throughout history.
Powell Gardens is open Wednesday – Sunday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM during Orchid Delirium.
